ALONE
Alone: Text
A deep breath - began a stroll
Shoulders back; gaze hung low
Heart so heavy, movements slow
The world is large, and we are small
Sense of self - a weighted glow
Sudden awareness - how little we know
Only to wait; see how it goes
But today, I befriend the ghosts
Just a moment - time I stole
All stood still, the sunlight cold
As I weigh the worth I'm told
If I'm honest, nothing at all
But, oh, I'm still worth my gold
The cards I hold are yet to fold
It's just, if only I were so bold
I'd have seen I was always alone
